Why is my senior female dog leaking pink fluid and swollen?

She may have a very serious uterine infection called a pyometra or a very serious urinary tract infection from your description and that picture. A pyometra is life threatening and requires antibiotics and often surgery to treat so I would get Belle to a veterinarian to be examined as soon as possible.

I would be extremely concerned that Trixie has a pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. It would cause a purulent discharge from the vagina (the white discharge) as well as pain. This is a medical emergency if she has one, as if it's not treated, she will die. Because I can't see her to rule out a pyometra, she needs to see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Hello sorry to hear about Molly. I would be concerned with fluid in her uterus. This fluid could be infectious or non-infectious. That is this could be a pyometra or infection of her uterus. The best way to diagnose an infected uterus would be to sample some of the fluid in her uterus as well as obtain bloodwork and an abdominal ultrasound. Ideally, you should have this evaluated by your veterinarian immediately as a pyometra can be quite detrimental to health. Hope this helps and best wishes.

If Brandy is having vaginal discharge, I would be very concerned that she may have a pyometra (uterine infection) - this is a serious, life-threatening problem that is unfortunately very common in older unspayed females. I would recommend taking her to the vet today to be seen. If she does have a pyometra, she will need emergency surgery to remove the infected uterus.

This is generally considered an emergency that should be addressed as soon as possible. The uterus fills up with pus and infectious material, and can ultimately result in a severe systemic infection. I recommend taking Bella in to the vet for an exam right away so they can determine if this is the issue. The best thing to do for her if it is, is removing her uterus and ovaries.
