My senior dog has E. coli and sinus issues, how to treat naturally?

It is not really a treatment for it but it will reduce the shedding of the bacteria from her. There is more information below but we don't know why it happens and in general it usually gets better within a few days. Of course, we can never rule out a middle ear infection, brain tumor, or other problem so I always recommend seeing a vet. I am so sorry to hear that your pet has so many major issues that are debilitating and causing her to have a poor quality of life. I do think that if her condition cannot be improved with medications then it is someting you should discuss with your veterinarian. Humane euthansia, although it is probably not something you want to consider, should be considered if Sophie is not able to helped with medical management. However, there are pain medications that can be tried to see if they make a difference. You can discuss with your vet about trying Tramadol and/or Gabapentin to help with pain management. Probiotics can also be tried to help with her diarrhea, as well as a high fiber diet such as Royal Canin Gasrointestinal High Fiber (Rx). It sounds like she may have cancer involving her nervous system, which is why she can't maintain her mobitliy well. Poor girl. I am sorry to hear about Bruno! With his symptoms going on for several days and his age, I would recommend bringing him into the vet for an examination as soon as possible. There are MANY possible causes for vomiting in dogs https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/vomiting-1/ ranging from ingesting some food that starts a bout of pancreatitis (which can result in decreased appetite and vomiting) to infections to tumors to other internal diseases such as liver or kidney issues. The vet will perform a physical examination and will likely recommend diagnostic testing such as x-rays and bloodwork to try to determine what is causing Bruno's illness and how best to treat it. Treatment will depend on the cause but often includes injectable medication to help with vomiting/nausea and fluids with an IV to help with dehydration.

Yes, as strange as it may sound, it is fairly common for dogs to have a urinary tract (and sometimes kidney) infection where the primary pathogen is E. coli. In humans E. coli usually causing GI disturbances but in animals we see it cause infections in the urinary tract. I would recommend that your vet performs a sensitivity on the E. coli so you can be sure the antibiotics she is on will kill the bacteria. These can be fairly nasty infections and can take several weeks (4-6) on antibiotics to clear. I would also recommend having an X-ray performed to make sure Delilah does not have any bladder stones as this can cause infections to linger as well. Best of luck with Delilah. While it's safe to give, it will not cure or treat Emma's sinusitis. That will requires antibiotics and other medications the vet deems necessary based on her symptoms, and I would have her seen by a vet first thing in the morning. Given that she is a senior dog. any infection should be medically treated as soon as possible. It won't hurt to give it to her in conjunction with medications from the vet.
