Is it safe to deworm my 2-week-old puppies and how often?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

I bought Nemex-2 Dewormer to start deworming five mix-breed puppies at home for precaution. They will be two weeks this week. Is it okay to deworm them at two weeks old? The bottle says to do it at 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10 weeks of age, but I have read online to do it only at 2,4, and 6 weeks. How frequent should I give it to the puppies?

Hello, and thank you for your question. It is safe to administer at the frequency written on the bottle, but it is not essential. I typically deworm every 2 weeks, starting from age 2 weeks all the way to 16 weeks. Make sure to weight them each time prior to administering, so that you are giving them the correct dose.

I hope this helps, and that your puppies are doing well so far!
