Are there good Royal Canin dog food alternatives like Hill's Science?

Hello. First, Hill's Science Diet & Royal Canin are two of the most respected dog nutritional companies in the world. They have the veterinary scientists & research dollars to innovate, create & stand behind their products that are used to help fight disease & metabolic problems in our pets. If all you are interested in is basic nutrition, then all the other pet food manufacturers are more than adequate, as long as they have the AAFCO statement on their label. But if you have a pet with liver disease, kidney failure, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems or any other number of health defining issues, be very glad we have these companies looking & innovating ways to keep our pets as healthy as possible. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach! In my honest opinion, I am a big fan of Science Diet and Royal Canin as my go to recommended dog foods. Both brands offer very well balanced diets that have gone through extensive research. My late dog, that was 20 years old, was on science diet his entire life and I contribute part of his longevity to a great diet. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. I've always had the best luck with Royal Canin and Science Diet. Not familiar with Earthborn, but that does not mean it isn't a good food choice. I have the most experience with Royal Canin between the two so I would recommend going with this brand. If Soska has problems on Royal Canin, then transition to a different food such as Earthborn. Hi there and thanks for posting again! The three I mentioned are possibilities. They are not the ONLY brands that are good. There are a wide variety of excellent dog foods out there but the ones I am more familiar with and the ones my patients have had success with have been those three different brands. You may explore other options from other sites as you wish. Those were just suggestions for you. Thank you!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There are diets that are more inexpensive. I like Purina Pro Plan shredded blends. It is very good in terms of nutrition and relatively inexpensive. Good luck and have a good day!

Science Diet is a fine food, but Royal Canin is also a good diet. I recommend any adult cat food that has an AFFCO statement on the back of the bag that says its complete and balanced for adult animals.

I'm for Royal Canin. You are right it has the research, science, and longevity behind it. Plus it has veterinary nutritionists on staff, which Farmina does not. I would feed the Royal Canin. Another great brand of dog food is Iams. That's what I feed my dogs, and they love it. I hope this helps!
