Why is my Rottweiler's front leg still limping after vet visits?

Yes, I would be worried. I don't want to scare you but it is actually very common for Rottweilers to get bone cancer. It will often times start out as an occasional limp but then will rapidly progress to a severe, constant limp. Sometimes you will see a noticeable swelling on the outside of the affected leg. Please take her to your vet for an exam and an x-ray of that leg. It is better to catch this sooner rather than later. If it is not that, the other option is arthritis which can be managed well with medications. Either way she sounds uncomfortable and in some pain so it would be best to find out what is going on. It sounds like the leg may be pretty painful if he's limping and won't bear weight on it (or let you touch it). Possible causes can include anything from a soft tissue or bone injury (such as a sprain or break), something stuck in the foot or between the toes, tumors or growths affecting the bones or joints, or even a nerve issue causing the leg to not work properly. I would have Rambo examined by your vet ASAP, especially if he is very painful and can't walk on the leg.

I realize that it may be hard to find a veterinarian in India who has an x-ray machine. The leg of Rambo needs to be x-rayed to see whether he has bone damage such as a fracture or old fracture. He could also have a sprain. Carprofen is a proper medicine to give, as it is an anti-inflammatory and takes away pain. It may be that the old injury has caused arthritis in the leg and that this will hurt intermittently when he overexerts the leg. For now I would keep giving the medicine your veterinarian prescribed and make sure Rambo rests as much as possible, leash walking only and no jumping and running. If the limping persists you will need to take him back to the vet who may be able to arrange xrays or take him to a veterinary clinic or hospital that has an xray machine. Since you live in Lucknow, there may be a possibility to have the leg xrayed at one of the hospitals for humans, if no vet or vet clinic owns an xray machine.

I am suspicious that this may be due to more severe underlying trauma like a deep infection or possibly a fracture of the bone in that region. Without being able to do a physical exam on Gypsy Rose, it is a little difficult for me to tell you what exactly is going on with her wrist. If it is very hard, then that could indicate that a small fracture did not heal properly, that her body is continuing to try to heal something in that area, or that there is bone cancer present. If it is soft, that could indicate a seroma (small pocket of fluid) or ongoing inflammation. Hygromas do not typically form in this area, but that is another possibility that would not necessarily turn into cancer. I would recommend that Gypsy Rose go back to the vet for additional x-rays. Rottweilers are prone to developing bone cancer, and I would want to make sure we caught it as early as possible. She may also benefit from anti-inflammatory medications

It certainly could be a fracture and yes surgery is the only option for cure of her limping. However arthritis will still persist so long to her management of that will still be needed. However given Athena's age and breed I would be very concerned about a possible neoplastic/cancerous process. It is much less common in the elbow but I would discuss this with your veterinarian prior to surgery.

You should take Bones to your vet in order to get it checked, he might have a joint disease or cartilage inflammation, you prevent him from running until you get it checked, an xray will probably be needed before starting him on any type of treatment.
