I am going to switch my puppy to Purina pro plan savor puppy food is it a good food for him?

Congrats on your new puppy!
Any of the Purina Pro-plan foods are good and they meet WSAVA guidelines for good nutrition. Just make sure to change your puppy slowly to the new food by adding a little bit more of it each day and a little less of the old food.

If the puppy is willing to eat the diet and is thriving (growing and gaining weight, no vomiting or diarrhea) then this food is agreeing with him and as it is a balanced puppy food then it is ok to feed this. IF there is any reduced weight gain, loose stools, poor coat quality or he is unwilling to eat enugh of the food then changing it may be worthwhile. Not every brand will suit every dog, it is important to feed a diet which is complete and balanced for growth and to continue to monitor the pups progress as he grows and develops

Hello. Purina is a very good dog food manufacturer. They are one of the few companies that actually have veterinary nutritionists overseeing all of their clinical feed trials. I even visited their equine research center several years ago & their facilities & dedication to animal nutrition are phenomenal. Next to Purina, you really cannot go wrong with a Science Diet or Royal Canin food. These are generally the top 3 on any veterinarians recommended food list. I am sorry if my answer was not clear. The Purina ProPlan Focus Puppy Chicken and Rice is a regular puppy formula. It is not specific to small or large breed dogs and this would be most appropriate for her given your veterinarian's recommendation. Any food that says "puppy" should be just fine. You can continue to feed wet, or you can use dry. If she prefers moist food, you could even add a little water to the dry food. All puppies that aren't large breeds can use the normal puppy food. Large breeds need different mineral percentages for their extra large bones. Is Purina Pro Plan dog food safe? Comparing top brands like Hill's.

There really isn't controversy about Purina's ingredients. They are excellent. They have veterinary nutritionists on staff to make sure the food is good. Canada and Wellness do not have veterinary nutritionists on their staff. I would go for Purina ProPlan, but Hill's is equally as good (they also have veterinary nutritionists on staff). Is Purina Pro Plan right for my French Bulldog's sensitive stomach?

Hello again. It is always hard to say for sure if Lou will tolerate this food as each dog's digestive tract is unique and can be sensitive to many different diets. However, Purina pro plan is a great diet and a good choice for Lou as he recovers. The Purina company has veterinarians on their team to ensure that all of their foods are nutritionally complete and balanced. I would recommend slowly transitioning him from the royal canin to the purina diet over 3-5 days. Hope this helps, glad to hear Lou is feeling better!

Why is Purina Pro Plan better quality than Alpo or Beneful dog food?

Foods made by Purina are good, but ones like ProPlan have higher quality ingredients than say Alpo or Beneful. In my opinion, Purina is the best of the supermarket brands, so getting a food made by Purina whether it be Purina One or Beneful is fine. I hope this helps!

What's the best food for my Beagle: Purina Pro Plan or Royal Canin?

Both brands of food are good but I prefer Royal Canin between the two. Pets who eat this diet tend to produce less stool (because it's highly digestible) which I prefer. Goldy is a cutie. Please feel free to post any additional questions.

What's the best kibble and wet food for my 4-month-old puppy?

Buddy is so cute! I'm not sure if the Pro Pac kibbles is a puppy formulated food, and if it's not, he needs to be on one. Puppies need higher amounts of protein, calcium, and calories than an adult dog and a puppy formulated food will provide one. Brands of puppy food I personally recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. It's fine to add in canned dog food, just make sure it's puppy formulated. The brands I mentioned above have puppy canned food as well as the dry kibble. I hope this helps :-)
