My puppy has yellow snot, blowing nose, and runny poop. What's wrong?

It would be best to have Odin examined by your veterinarian to diagnose"simple" upper respiratory infection or something more serious such as distemper. If indicated, antibiotics can be started to treat infection or to prevent secondary infection. Your vet can also determine if supportive care is needed.

As long as Aurora is eating, drinking, and acting normally without any significant coughing or sneezing, I would not be overly concerned about a bit of mucus in her stool or a mild running nose. If the mucus becomes a recurrent issue, it would be worth having her evaluated by the vet to assure that she doesn't have intestinal parasites or other concerns. If the runny nose worsens or if the discharge becomes yellow, green, or bloody, she would also need veterinary attention. Not to worry! On a side note, I would not recommend taking Aurora for walks around the neighborhood where she has access to any areas where other dogs have been previously until she has finished her vaccine series (over 16 weeks of age). She could acquire parvovirus, which is a serious gastrointestinal virus, from exposure to areas where infected dogs may have previously walked since this virus lives in the soil for years. Poor Nova! I am sorry to hear that she is not feeling well. It sounds as though Nova may have an upper respiratory infection. She should definitely be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible, especially since she is so young. Because she is a puppy her immune system is not completely developed making her more susceptible to illness. We want to make sure that a veterinarian evaluates her before her symptoms progress, as it is much easier on all parties involved to get her symptoms under control early rather than waiting until she is severely ill. The veterinarian can prescribe the appropriate medications to get Nova feeling better and being a puppy. Unfortunately there is nothing over the counter to remedy this; however, until you can get her in to be seen you can steam up the bathroom and sit in there with Nova for about 5-10 mins to give her some relief. This will only help give her some relief from the stuffy nose. She ultimately needs to be seen by a vet to clear up things for good. I hope this was helpful and that Nova gets better very soon.

The most likely causes are an infection or allergies. An object stuck in the nose is possible but typically tends to be one sided and will start to have greenish discharge. Poor Loki! From what you're describing and the appearance of his nasal discharge, it sounds like he has a pretty nasty respiratory infection. He will need prescription antibiotics to treat his infection, so I would recommend taking him to the vet tomorrow morning if possible. In the meantime, you can use a warm washcloth to gently clean off the nasal discharge to make it easier for him to breathe. You could also try bringing him into the bathroom with you while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity often help to break up nasal congestion and may make him feel a bit better until you are able to see the vet.

Intestinal worms are common in puppies, and that could be the cause of her diarrhea. She could have a respiratory infection or irritation of the nasal passages causing the reverse sneezing.
