Worms coming out of my 10-week French Bulldog puppy. Help!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. These are tapeworms and they come from your pet ingesting a flea or eating another pets poop that has live tapeworms in it. It is contagious to other pets and people via ingestion of a live worm. You will need tapeworm specific dewormer such as Drontal or Praziquantel to rid this worm and a good flea preventative (Bravecto, Nexgard, Firstshield) is recommended. Usually tapeworms are gone after the first treatment as long as puppy doesn't get reinfected. I hope this is helpful! Take care now.

Harleigh could have worms even though you don't see any in her feces, and that would cause blood in her feces. I would take her into the vet with a sample of her feces. The vet can examine her feces under a microscope for signs of eggs from intestinal parasites, and can prescribe her a deworming treatment.

That does look like a worm, and it appears to be a tapeworm segment. Dogs get tapeworms from fleas, so if Coochie and the puppy both have had fleas, that's how they would have gotten it. They will require praziquantel to treat it, which is a prescription drug from the vet. I recommend Drontal, it's an excellent deworming treatment that has praziquantel in it. Make an appointment for both of them to see the vet to be treated. The vet can confirm they have tapeworms, and can prescribe them Drontal. Coochie needs to be flea treated, and you will need to speak with the vet to estimate how hold the puppy is so a safe flea treatment for her can be determined. Best of luck!

These are tapeworms and should be ideally treated with an effective prescription product. Fleas should be ideally controlled as well as they cause the infection (the worm lives inside the flea during his life cycle). Those appear to be tapeworms. They get those from eating fleas. They do not one from the nose but most likely he was licking that area as they can itch and got a segment in his face. Give him a good bath and make sure to get rid of the fleas. They seek dewormers at the vet and at pet stores that can treat this. Make sure it says for tapeworms as not all dewormers treat them.

It means that she has worms. I cannot tell you what type of worm because I can't see it. The most common type of worms are roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms. I suggest you keep the worm, put it in a plastic bag and take that along with Pochie to your vet so she can get treatment. You need to take the worm so your vet can see what you are talking about.

The vaccinations that Storm would have received 2 weeks ago will not have treated any pre-existing worm burden. Worms in puppies is very common and it is possible that Storm had worms prior to playing with the other puppy. They are easily treated and I would recommend contacting your veterinarian so that they can prescribe a suitable course of deworming for your puppy.
