My puppy is vomiting, has diarrhea, and won't eat. What should I do?

I'm sorry to hear of your concerns with Toby. It is possible that his appetite is decreased and his stomach is a little upset from the stress of being in a new environment. As long as he does not continue to vomit and he begins eating within 24 hours, I would not be concerned. If Toby is not drinking normally, becomes lethargic or develops any other symptoms such as diarrhea, I would recommend that you have him seen by a veterinarian.

Unfortunately, this is not normal behavior for a young puppy and is pretty concerning. At less than two months old, your puppy needs to eat regularly or he risks having low blood sugar, which can cause serious health problems. Vomiting is not typically caused by stress and all these signs make me worry about a more serious illness. He might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer Toby boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.

Poor pup! He should see a vet right away, as it's recommended to see one when a dog is both vomiting and having diarrhea. He could have a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, have pancreatitis, or a foreign body. I would take him into a vet now, who can diagnose what is causing his symptoms and treat accordingly.

Oh my. Poor guy. If he has a fever this can be caused by a bacterial or viral infection (i.e. Parvovirus if he isn't fully vaccinated). I would have him tested for parvovirus first and if that comes up negative he needs full panel bloodwork and a urinalysis. to fully evaluate him. He should be on antibiotics and fluid therapy to help bring down his fever. He also needs anti-vomit medication to prevent him from becoming dehydrated due to excessive vomiting. If his condition has not improved within 24-48 hrs, then you should consider having him hospitalized so that he can get around the clock care and treatment. Poor guy. I do hope that your pup Shadow is able to make a full and speedy recovery from his illness. For tonight you can try feeding him some slghly warmed up cans of baby food (meat and vegetables or squash) to try to entice him to eat. Vomiting in such a young puppy is usually something to worry about, as he could get dehydrated in a matter of hours, it's probably an infection, i would strongly recommend taking him to the vet ASAP in order to get it treated.

It seems as Max is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
