My puppy threw up clear liquid. When should I worry about it?

Poor pup. It is possible he just has an upset stomach from something he got into. Try feeding him a bland diet of boiled plain chicken or lean ground turkey and white rice for the next few meals to see if this can settle his stomach. However, if he continues to vomit, acts lethargic, or has a decreased appetite, then there could be something more serious going on internally that will require a vet visit to sort out. This is definitely concerning - if your pup is not current on her booster vaccines, I would be very worried that she may have parvo. She may also have an upset stomach due to something she has eaten. If she is acting normal otherwise, you can try withholding food for the next 12 hours to help settle her stomach, then offer some plain boiled chicken and white rice. If she continues to vomit even though you aren't feeding her, or if she is acting lethargic or having any other symptoms, then I would recommend having her seen tonight by an emergency vet if possible as she may have a serious problem.

Lulu is absolutely adorable! It depends on how Lulu is acting and if she is still vomiting. My concern is how old Lulu is. Puppies this young can become sick and decline very quickly. So if she is still vomiting, her energy level or anything is off, if any of the vomit has blood in it or if she starts to develop diarrhea then I would highly recommend taking her to a veterinarian as soon as possible. This can be something simple like just an upset stomach from eating something she wasn't supposed to but it could be something more especially since she is not fully vaccinated. Royal is very cute! Since she seems to be doing well otherwise I would first suspect intestinal parasites. I would also be concerned about a GI obstruction or foreign body. Be sure that you know if she is vomiting (belly goes in and out) versus regurgitation (burps up fluid) versus a cough with a terminal retch (cough is first followed by a gag of fluid). I don't know how old Honey is but she only weighs 5 lbs and that means if she is truly vomiting then she could get dehydrated quickly. If the vomiting is non-stop she should be taken to your Vet if open or an emergency hospital. If it has been a couple of times remove all water and food. Do not offer water for 4-6 hours of no vomiting and offer small amounts and ice chips. Do not offer food until 12-24 hours of no vomiting and offer it as a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day as small frequent meals. If she continues to vomit while fasted or once she starts eating she needs to see a Vet. Causes of vomiting are: intestinal parasites, foreign body (something is stuck and needs surgery to remove), dietary indiscretion, viral or bacterial infections, metabolic conditions, toxin ingestion, food allergy or intolerance. She may have a cold or kennel cough. They get this from other dogs and it causes a lot of coughing and often some nasal discharge. When dogs cough they also sometimes vomit a small amount as a result so I'm not overly concerned about the vomiting if Rainey is otherwise normal. Keep her quiet to reduce the coughing, and away from other dogs as this can be infectious. She should be better in a few days to a weeek or so. It also could be due to a throat irritation from eating the bark and other items. Same thing though, with time this should resolve on its own. If she should get worse and stops eating or starts more vomiting then it's time for a veterinary exam and treatment. I am very sorry to hear that Max is experiencing these problems, I am sure it is very unsettling for you both. There are a number of potentiall causes of such clinical signs, including dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, parasite infestation, infection, and ingestion of a toxin or poison. Because you have only noticed these signs over the course of a few hours I would continue to monitor Max at home. The foamy clear vomit you noticed is most likely the final contents of Max's now empty stomach; bike and stomach acids. It's not anything to be worried about. . Rest Max's gastrointestinal tract by holding back food for 12 hours. Then you can continue with a bland and easily digested food of the boiled chicken breast and white rice diet and provide plenty of fresh water. If Max does not improve, has sever vomiting or diarrhoea, you notice fresh blood, Max seems lethargic, in pain or depressed I would advise a trip to the veterinarian.
