My puppy throws up after eating. Is it fast drinking or serious?

I am very sorry to hear that Maggie is experiencing these problems, There are a number of potential causes of such clinical signs, including pancreatistis, parasite infestation, infection, and ingestion of a toxin or poison, or even an gastrointestinal obstruction. It is also possible that Maggie is simply eating too much too fast. If the episodes continue over a 48 hour period, Maggie seems dull or depressed, in pain, ha sprifuse diarrhoea or vomiting, I would take her straight tot wh vet. Your vet will be able to perform a physical exam and run diagnostic tests such as bloodwork to determine the cause of Maggie's vomiting. In the meantime you can continue to monuitir her at home. Rest her stomach for a few hours. Then try smaller meals three times a day. Try a bland diet of boiled chicken breast and white rice for a few days and provide plenty of fresh water. If it only happens when he drinks that quickly and is eating and not regurgitating or vomiting any other time then I would think he is ok. If that is not the case then I would have him examined by your Vet and have X-rays done to check his esophagus. I would prevent him from drinking so much so quickly. Regurgitation can happen with over-activity but if this is happening regularly it needs to be assessed. Conditions like megaesophagus can cause regurgitation, especially in puppies. I would suggest having her examined by a veterinarian to make sure there is no underlying illness causing this problem.

I don't know if this happens every time after eating or rarely. It is not common to vomit with exercise every time after he eats. If that is the case I'd have him looked at by your Veterinarian. Things to try: Do not allow him to play after eating for 45 mins. Just keep him calm. Allow time for him to digest his meals. You could also try feeding him smaller meals more frequently so his stomach isn't so full. If the above things do not help, please see your Veterinarian! I wish you the best of luck!

It could be she ate too fast or didn't chew her food properly as the kibble and egg (?) appears to be intact still. The white foam is just saliva and mucous from the mouth and stomach lining. It is nothing too concerning. If she continues to regurgitate her food or vomit, I would see a veterinarian soon to ensure there is not something more concerning that is causing the frequent vomiting. Keep a an eye of her for the next day or so. Since he is so young and this isn't the first time he has regurgitated I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at Oliver. There are congenital issues that can actually cause an animal to regurgitate. Your veterinarian may want to do some chest X-rays to rule in or out these abnormalities. I would just make sure that he is actually regurgitating not vomiting since the list of differentials would be different for both. In the mean time you can try watering down Oliver's food so he has to chew it more and potentially sit him up after he eats. You can also add some wet food to the dry food to see if that helps. However, in puppies, vomiting can be caused by parasites and dangerous viral infections. I recommend keeping an eye on Ciroc for continued vomiting, loss of energy/appetite, and diarrhea.
