Can puppies survive outside in 29-degree weather with their mom?

Pet's info: Dog | Great Pyrenees | Female | unspayed | 100 lbs

Hi, it is the middle of the night, my great pyrenees is wanting to move her 3 week old puppies from inside the house to her dog house outside. It's 29 degrees. She is taking one at a time, feeding it for about 30 minutes, then going to get another. 4/10 are now outside with her. I was rescuing them when she walked away to get another but I just put them all back out with her. Should I force her in? When I locked her in she just kept one in her mouth, walking around with it everywhere

No i don't see any reason preventing her from moving the puppies outside, she will probably not stop trying until you let her anyway and it is not too cold or too hot, it's actually ideal weather so no reason to worry.

Should I bring my newborn puppies inside when it's freezing out?

It's probably best to bring them inside, but it really depends on how warm their kennel is. If you can be sure that the kennel does not drop below 70 degrees F, then the pups should be fine. If you can't ensure this, then I would bring them inside to be safe. Is 75°F room temperature okay for newborn puppies with their mother?

Hi, and thanks for posting this question. Ambient temperature for pups that age should be around 80 degrees, so as long as mom is with them her body heat probably keeps it around that temp. Are freezing temps too cold for my Staffy cross puppies at night?

Good question. That temperature is much too cold for a dog to be in for long periods of time. I would recommend keeping them indoors. Dogs can typically tolerate temperatures almost equivalent to us, but just 5 degrees greater or lower in most situations. Even still, there is individual variance.
