My 6-month-old puppy suddenly can't move. Is she paralyzed?

Without xrays and records of the physical exam it is impossible to guess what might be causing these symptoms. Paralysis of 3 months in a young pup is unlikely to resolve bit referral to a specialist neurologist and orthopedic surgeon may provide a full diagnosis and highlight any possible treatment options. If he has limited mobility then quality of life should be assessed and it may not be fair to expect him to continue most especially if any incontinence develops

Please have Leilani seen by a vet right away. It sounds like she may be dealing with a neurologic problem, and she is likely suffering. It is difficult to give a prognosis without further diagnostics, as she could also be dealing with weakness from systemic diseases, low blood sugar, trauma, or toxin ingestion. A vet visit is needed immediately to determine the cause of his signs and guide treatment, as the prognosis could worsen drastically without treatment. Oh goodness. My initial thoughts are to comb his whole body, including looking in his ears for a tick- as occasionally their saliva can cause tick paralysis. I would also consider getting an MRI if one is available. Encephalitis due to parasites, immune disorders, or cancers are on my list, as is a disorder called Coonhound paralysis. A full diagnosis would be required before any treatment could be recommended in such a severe case. A full physical exam by your vet will be essential to try and determine the cause of the paralysis but unfortunately, recovery would not be guaranteed. Fever, dehydration and viral or parasitic infections of the nervous system would all be concerns

I am so sorry to hear about Diya. I would recommend getting her to a vet for examination as soon as possible. There could be many different causes for weakness in the hind legs, ranging from a problem with the bones due to development, injury, dietary deficiency; or a neurological issue such as a compression of the spinal cord due to a herniated disk, a spinal embolism, infection, tick borne diseases, and more. An examination is needed to determine the causative agent and start treatment.

Muscles twitches can be caused by weakness or neurological problems affecting long nerves which are supplying legs and peripheral muscles in general. Unfortunately without having a look at her it is really difficult to be able to provide a more specific advice. Given her young age an infective or congenital cause is possible and I would strongly recommend a check up to be able to understand and investigate this sign.
