Make sure your kitten has an x-ray and you may consider testing for toxoplasmosis. Infections in the spine are possible. Most vets will test for this using a blood culture. An x-ray may also help show signs of an infection. Sometimes further diagnostics like an MRI or CT scan is indicated. other infections of the brain can also present as paralysis. Poor cat! If there is no deep pain present in the back legs then chances are kidding you won't regain function unfortunately. We use the pain is an indicator whether the pet will walk again. However if deep pain is present (kitty moves twitches or flinches when you pinch the back toes), then there is a chance that Katie can regain function of the limbs. However you won't know the extent of the injury without an x-ray. And without an x-ray he won't really know what treatment kitty needs. I unfortunately don't see a good solution here without proper diagnostics. Kittie may be a lost cause at this point without proper medical care for such a traumatic injury like this which undoubtedly involves the spinal cord and/or pelvis. I would highly consider Humane euthanasia for this kittie because the outcome looks bleak.

I am so sorry about your kittens. Weakness and impaired movement are not classic signs for one specific disease process in kittens. Typically, we are concerned with infection, nutritional deficiencies and congenital abnormalities in neonates. The queen and kittens need to be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

It sounds like Salem is very sick and he needs to see the veterinarian immediately. Not being able to walk is serious. Toxins, trauma, and viral infections are all possible but it’s impossible to know what the cause is with out an exam and likely diagnostics. He may have injured himself jumping down and should be seen by your vet right away with those symptoms. He may have pinched a nerve or fractured something, though not being painful makes this less likely. The only way to know for sure is to get him seen by your vet or at an emergency clinic right away. Your vet will do an exam and x-rays, possibly other imaging or diagnostics as their findings call for. Based on these results, they will be better able to tell you what is going on and how best to treat it.

There could be lots of causes for this, including severe anemia or heart or lung disease causing profuse weakness, tick paralysis, neurologic disease, etc. I can't make a diagnosis without examining the puppy, so I would recommend that you have it evaluated by a vet for possible treatment options.

Hi. I'm sorry about Tess. First, I'd get her to the ER if she has lost motor skills. It is impossible to know what is wrong without an exam, history, and further diagnostics. It sounds like it is most likely congenital, and most likely a primary brain issue. These can be hereditary, from infections, parasites, toxins, and many more. Good luck, and get her seen asap
