Why is my puppy refusing to eat her food, even after a change?

Unfortunately, it's impossible to know if Remy's behavior is due to illness or not liking the food. Especially with very small puppies, they need to eat frequently to avoid low blood sugar which can be fatal. I recommend to have Remy examined to be safe. You may also experiment with different types of puppy food (try a mixture of canned and dry). Royal Canin tends to be a good brand and they make a diet for yorkies. You may also talk to the veterinarian about keeping some dextrose or karosyrup on hand in case Remy ever shows any signs of low blood sugar. Best of luck.

It sounds like you are doing a great job with Luna so far! I would first make sure that she has pooped today. If she has not this can lead to an ‘overfull’ feeling and make her not want to eat. If she has pooped and is still refusing food for more than 24 hours then I would recommend taking her in to be examined by your veterinarian to ensure nothing is wrong. I hope this helps. Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Rambo evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. It could be that Remy is teething and that's why he's not eating as much. You can try soaking his food in gently warmed low sodium beef or chicken broth, or you try mixing together dry food and canned food. If he's still not eating much in another 48 hours, I would bring him back into the vet for a health check.

Issues with the teeth, gums, or mouth can cause pain while eating. Of course there are other medical conditions that can cause decreased or lack of appetite that will need to be ruled out with her veterinarian. You can try softening the food down with water and heating it up a bit to bring out the flavor and entice her to eat. If she still doesn't want to eat, then please take her in to see her vet as soon as you can.

It can be difficult going from one place to another since Kane most likely doesn't understand. If he isn't eating I would recommend a physical to make sure there is nothing going on medically with him. If he is fine then I would talk to your veterinarian about how he is behaving. I think if she is sleepy a lot and that is abnormal and it has been 2 days that she should see a Veterinarian for a physical exam. Causes of not eating are:intestinal parasites, foreign body ingestion, viral infections, toxin ingestion or other more regional diseases. I wouldn't want her to go much longer without eating.
