My 5-month-old puppy just finished antibiotics, why is he eating less?

I would call your vet to see if it could be a side effect of the medications prescribed. Remember, if no food goes in, there won’t be stool to come out, so I think the biggest problem is not wanting to eat/nausea. Some medications can cause this to happen. Or there could be a second issue causing the poor appetite. You can try bland human foods like boiled chicken breast and cooked white rice to entice Lucky to eat.

Antibiotics can sometimes cause upset stomach, and the underlying illness may also cause Appu to lose his appetite. You can try offering bland foods, such as boiled rice and chicken, his regular diet moistened to make it easier to eat, or even canned dog food watered down into a sort of paste to make it a bit easier to digest. If he continues to refuse all food, or can't keep any food down, it is also a good idea to let your veterinarian know in case they need to switch medications, or have Appu come in for IV fluids and other treatment.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to know if Remy's behavior is due to illness or not liking the food. Especially with very small puppies, they need to eat frequently to avoid low blood sugar which can be fatal. I recommend to have Remy examined to be safe. You may also experiment with different types of puppy food (try a mixture of canned and dry). Royal Canin tends to be a good brand and they make a diet for yorkies. You may also talk to the veterinarian about keeping some dextrose or karosyrup on hand in case Remy ever shows any signs of low blood sugar. Best of luck.

You can skip her night time medicine to see if makes a different then contact the vet about a different medication or a recheck

It could be due to the death of the worms in Remy's system, as this can lead him to feel nauseous and thus decrease his eating. Try tempting him to eat by adding some boiled white meat chicken (no bones or skin) or tuna in spring water to his food. His appetite should return to normal over the next couple of days. The stress of moving and change in routine can certainly cause a decrease in appetite. I would try offer Remy's food in smaller amounts more often to give him a chance to eat when he feels like it and see if that allows him to eat a bit more. If he's otherwise healthy and acting normal, I would just keep an eye on him. If he starts to refuse all food, seems lethargic, has other symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea, or seems ill, a vet visit is a good idea.

I am concerned that Remmy is not eating and would recommend bringing Remmy to a veterinarian to have her evaluated.
