Why does my 6-month-old puppy have small red and white body lumps?

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! From what I can tell via your photo, this looks a lot like puppy pyoderma-a very common condition among young dogs. Essentially, these are "pimples" for puppies and usually caused by staph bacteria. I will usually try to rule out any underlying flea problem resulting in pustules, etc when I see these patients. If I see nothing else of concern I will usually prescribe antibiotics for 10-14 days at which point the breakout has usually cleared up. I would recommend seeing your vet to do these things as well-Lala will be much more comfortable without pustules. I hope this helps!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This looks like a focal infection. You can try to use a medicated shampoo containing chlorhexidine twice weekly for 2 weeks. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This does not appear to be an emergency. If the medications you used don't help within 24 hours, I recommend seeing a vet for oral antibiotics. Also, if that's his neck make sure to clean his collar too. Good luck and kisses to Murphy!

These may be the result of a bacterial skin infection, mange, or be growths. I recommend having Bonita seen by a vet if these bumps do not resolve on their own in the next few days. You can also try using antibacterial wipes for dogs, which are available in most pet stores on the area to keep it clean. I hope this helps and that all is well with Bonita!

I am so sorry Pretty Girl is going through this. On her belly it looks like a little skin infection but on her side it looks like hives. If this just started today I would take her to an emergency veterinarian for a possible allergic reaction. If this has been going on for a few days call your regular veterinarian tomorrow. If you wait then during the night if the bumps that look like hives get worse, her face swells or she has difficulty breathing then take her to an emergency veterinarian asap. Niño's lesion, given his age, is most likely from a red button tumor, an arthropod (insect or arachnid) bite/sting, or a dermal foreign body. An exam will help narrow this down further and give a better idea of what to expect. If it is a red button tumor, it will take around 2 weeks and go away on its own, though it will ooze blood periodically in the meantime. Because he has other possibilities, I would recommend an exam by your veterinarian and possibly a fine needle aspirate to try to get a more narrow diagnosis for more pointed treatment.
