My puppy has a red, pus-filled bump on his belly. What should I do?

I noticed. my puppy has a pus filled bump on his belly by his groin. It looks like it's. slightly. red around it and the bump looks like it could pop soon. What advice would. you give

A warm compress may promote drainage. Use an e-collar (cone) to prevent licking. Keep the area clean and dry. If it doesn't heal after rupture or if it spreads, have Muffin examined by your veterinarian.

This appears to be a pustule. These are little pus-filled bumps that occur due to a bacterial infection (pyoderma). Puppies commonly get this on their bellies and they usually go away with good cleaning. It's nothing to be overly concerned about, but it's good to observe it and watch for anymore of these.

I recommend cleaning the belly with a medicated wipe or shampoo (can get this at the pet store) once a day until the bump(s) are gone. Be careful not to squeeze it or rub it, because this can make it worse. If it seems to get worse, then you'll want to take Bruce into the vet for an exam. If it is just the one spot, you can clean it with a diluted Betadine or chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) solution daily. A warm compress applied for 5-10 minutes a few times daily may bring it to a head quicker. If it spreads or worsens, Bella may need to be seen by your veterinarian for an exam and systemic antibiotics. Use an e-collar (cone), if necessary, to prevent licking.

My puppy has a green bump on her belly. Should I be concerned?

Most likely this is a mild skin infection (bacterial) and the green bump could be a small pustule. Puppies commonly get little skin infections on the belly area. You can try cleansing it with a mild soap (i.e. Dove) and warm water, letting it dry, and applying Neosporin to it twice a day. Sometimes the pets immune system and conservative treatment like this is enough to get it to resolve. However if it starts to get worse or starts to spread then it is best to get puppy seen by your vet for further investigation of the area and perhaps oral antibiotics or stronger topical antibiotic sprays to use on the area to get it heal.

Bella could have a skin infection if she has red pus filled bumps all over her belly. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain, so I do recommend that she sees a vet for this today or tomorrow. The vet can diagnose what is causing these bumps and can prescribe medication to treat it.

What is this hard, discolored lump on my puppy's belly near his penis?

It appears to be infected at this point. It can be an abscess from a big bite. It does need to be lanced and drained and have antibiotics with sedation from your vet since it is painful. Sometimes they can rupture on their own... if you notice that you need to clean it with soap and water. You can apply a warm compress to the area to help with swelling.

Concerned: Puppy has a pus-filled spot on her belly. What to do?

This should be examined by a vet . If this is near the belly button it could be an umbilical abscess which can easily affect the liver. Any other abscess can cause sepsis if it is not treated. Please have a veterinarian examine her. Abscesses are usually lanced and flushed, and your puppy may need antibiotics.
