Why does my puppy have red blister-like sores under his armpits?

It looks like he has a bacterial skin infection which could be associated with allergies. Have your vet take a look at him as he will need an oral antibiotic, anti-histamine, and/or a corticosteroid to help treat. You can also bathe him with a medicated dog shampoo.

Poor Cooper! Skin lesions can be caused by bacterial, parasitic or fungal infection, dietary or environmental allergies or sensitivities, immune system disorders, or a combination of the above. Based on the pictures it looks like Cooper’s skin is likely causing him pain, but dogs are very good at hiding signs of discomfort. I recommend making an appointment to have Cooper seen by your veterinarian to help determine the cause of the sores you’ve noticed and to make sure they are treated appropriately. The vet will likely wan to look at a sample from the area under the microscope to determine if there is an infection and to figure out what medication is appropriate for treatment.

This is most likely a case of puppy pyoderma, a condition extremely common to Pit bull terriers and the breeds alike. In many cases, medication is required to help clear it up in the form of an antibiotic and something to help with any itchiness that is occurring. Sometimes, an e-collar is also needed to make sure the dog is not causing any further damage through licking and self-inflicted trauma. You can opt to just try the collar first and see if the condition is self-limiting, but the majority of these cases do require some sort of medication in my experience. You can try giving Hector a bath with an antibacterial shampoo, which may kill off the bacteria, but if the skin condition does not resolve Hector definitely needs to be seen by your vet.

Poor puppy. Kai has what appears to be a contact dermatitis or puppy pyoderma. This is usually caused by something coming in contact with the skin, such as urine, or is simply due to your pet still developing its immune system and being vulnerable to infections. This is usually easily treated with a short course of antibiotics prescribed by your vet. I would recommend scheduling an appt with your vet for Kai to get this resolved. Until you can get Kai seen, you can gently cleanse the skin with Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water. I hope that Kai's skin infection clears up well soon! Best wishes and take care. : )
