Will a new puppy get overwhelmed visiting before its new home?

I don't recommend to give a new puppy something for car sickness as Lady is very young and she may not have issues with car sickness. It will help to make sure she is not given any vaccines or dewormers within 24 hours of her trip. Keep her in your lap in the back seat or have her carrier easily accessible. Try to take a towel or something with the scent of her mother. Hopefully you will have a quiet trip back home. Congratulations and best of luck!

I would not take her to the vet straight away, I would take her home for a week and continue the same diet recommended by the breeder and same number of meals. Then in one week have her checked over. It is always best to have them settled at home for a week, as changing home can trigger tummy upsets in its own. Changing the diet would also contribute to having tummy troubles . Keep her on the same diet and discuss then with your vet, if the diet is appropriate for her, according to her age and weight. Your vet will also check her microchip number and advise you on any changes that need to be done, if necessary.

I would consider having Loki meet the other dogs on neutral ground several times prior to moving in (or as often as possible) so that they can see eachother without feeling that space is invaded. I think having Loki on a light leash is a good idea as well initially in case things do escalate. It is important to keep the dogs separate when feeding because this is often a moment when confrontation can occur. Also be sure each dog has it's own bed that it can retire to without competition from another dog. It may be helpful if Loki is a bit anxious to gate part of the house if the other dogs tend to be in his face all the time, when you are not home especially, so he doesn't feel threatened. If you will be inheriting her dogs I would recommend getting them used to them now. Slowly introduce them to each other outside the home and once they are doing well together I would then bring them to your house. I would bring them little by little and leave them for longer periods of time at your home. That way the transition is a little easier for everyone.
