When do puppies start losing baby teeth and get their adult teeth?

At 3 months she should weigh anywhere from 22 – 30 lbs (10 – 14 kg). The teeth start to fall out between 3 and 4 months of age and continues until 6 months of age. At 6 months old all the adult teeth should be in.

The roots of the baby teeth begin to resorb between 2and 3 months of age. This results in loosening teeth that start to fall out shortly after. Once a tooth is loose, it can take several days to fall out or be knocked out (during play or eating). By 6-8 months of age, all the baby teeth should definitely be out, replaced by adult teeth.

Puppies lose their puppy teeth, and their adult teeth grow back in their place. This starts happening around four months of age, so yes this can be normal. You can have Luna checked by your vet to be sure since I can't say for certain without seeing her in person. Good luck, I hope this helps!

This is completely normal and right on schedule. These are the first teeth to fall out. Adult teeth will appear in those spots soon. The teething process takes about 6-10 weeks total. Most of the time, the teeth just seem to disappear....puppies swallow them or they end up in the grass outside, etc. Usually the last teeth to fall out are the canine or “fang” teeth. This is a baby tooth so it’s normal to lose them. Between four and six months dogs will lose all of their baby teeth. Sometimes you won’t see them when they fall out. Poodles do sometimes have retained canine baby teeth so if those aren’t gone by seven months they may need to be removed so the adult teeth can come in properly. It is normal for dogs to lose their puppy teeth and only see half of the tooth because the root will be gone when the tooth falls out. The canine teeth are the last teeth to be lost and normally should fall out by around 6 months of age in a GSD, so it sounds like Sweety is right on schedule. However, loss of appetite and diarrhea are not normal signs when they are losing teeth, so I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her to determine what might be going on with that. At six months of age, there is a chance that the baby canine teeth might still fall out on their own. I usually tell my clients that if they're still there by the time the dog is a year old, they definitely need to be removed.
