My puppy's baby tooth is loose. When will it finally fall out?

  Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This can vary, but in general puppy teeth (or deciduous teeth) are typically loose for a few days to week before they fall out. Some teeth can be accidentally removed during play with a toy if the tooth is loose.

  His adult teeth should be right at the gum-line erupting through, because this is what causes the baby teeth to fall out. He should continue to lose his baby teeth and have all adult teeth by the time Zeus has reached 6 months of age.

  Hi there! At five months old, his adult canines should still be in the process of coming in - so yes, it's very possible that the baby canine teeth may come out on their own sometime in the next few weeks. :) My personal rule of thumb is that if the baby canines haven't fallen out by 10-12 months of age, they should probably be extracted at that time to avoid causing problems with the adult teeth.

  Yes, the tooth should fall out on it's own by the time she is about 6 months old. DO not pull it out or you may break the root. Just leave it be and check on it periodically. If it does not come out on it's own by 7 months of age then your vet should check her out.
