Why is my puppy licking hind legs, lethargic, and having accidents?

It is certainly concerning that Hunnie seems to be in more pain, and it is possible that a lower urinary tract issue or potentially rectal pain or itchiness is causing her to lick her rear end. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian since these signs are new. They might want to check a urine sample or blood work after performing a physical exam. If she is not on pain medication, this could help her feel more comfortable and potentially increase her mobility for a little while. Usually kidney disease causes signs like a decrease in appetite, vomiting, or increased thirst and urination.

It sounds like she might be suffering from a urinary infection, you will have to take her to the vet, bring a fresh urine sample with you, a urine analysis will be done and if an infection is found- she will be treated with antibiotics.

Constant looking on the vulva can indicate an infection in the bladder. There’s not anything you can do for that at home so Bailey needs to see the veterinarian to have her urine tested for an infection or crystals. Try to get her examined today. Constant licking on the hind legs can have many causes but fleas are very common in the area. I recommend to discuss using an oral flea preventative such as Simparica with your veterinarian. If you give her this product and the licking stops, then you know it was due to fleas. In general you can wash her in an oatmeal type dog shampoo as this can help with itching as can an omega-3 fatty acid supplement for pets. She is a large breed growing puppy so they often go through spurts of sleepiness where they may not eat as much of their food. With that said, this should then be followed by a spurt of activeness and engorging in her food, within a 24 hr period. If she is lethargic and not eating well for more than a day, then she may have an infection and should be checked out by your vet asap. Pets also don't often pee on themselves, even at this age. This concerns me for a possible urinary tract infection, which causes her to have an inflamed bladder, which then causes her to not be able to pee in a designated area. At almost 3 months of age though, she may still be potty training. At any rate, it is best to get her seen with such vague symptoms, just to make sure she doesn't have an infection and to get her treated right away if there is one present. I recommend having tests done on Luna such as blood work, a urinalysis, and possibly x-rays. This can help them diagnose what is going on with her. I would take her back into a vet today, poor girl.

That behavior does sound a little bit strange, and I'm wondering if he may be painful in his back end, like his hips or spine, or there could be a problem with his anal sacs (impacted). Poor girl. It sounds like she may have a urinary tract infection, that is not affected her systemically. UTI's cause excessive drinking and urination, and often accidents in the home b/c it is hard for the pet to hold their bladder if the bladder is inflamed. I would highly recommend taking Lulu to your vet to have her urine checked. Bloodwork analysis may also be recommended to check her organ functions as well.
