Why is my 3-month-old puppy learning so many tricks so fast?

Your best option is to work with a professional trainer. Some puppies are harder to manage than others and the trainer can provide not only guidance but also teach you techniques for how to get Bailey to act the way you want her too. These behaviors are not unusual for a puppy but training does need to begin ASAP and remain consistent. You must also make sure to meet all of Bailey’s exercise and mental stimulation needs or her behavior is not likely to improve. Reading about behavior and training will also be beneficial. Stick with trainers who utilize positive reinforcement techniques. There is a trainer named Victoria Stilwell who has written several books and I recommend to read them. That is very impressive for a puppy Bailey's age! Training her to bark may be difficult. Many people will hang a bell (bells) from the door knob and teach the pet to ring the bell. Basically, gently touch it to her muzzle to make it jingle and then open up the door. Most dogs pick up on this quickly. I would encourage you to contact a dog trainer that can work with you and Bailey in person to really take care of this behavior. She is able to start learning immediately - the most important skills are sit, wait, come and 'leave it'/drop. With these you can attract her attention and focus and ask her to put down anything undesirable she may pick up whilst out walking. Be sure to use positive reinforcement and encouragement throughout training and do not attempt to punish her if she is confused

I see that Bailey is still very young, about three months old :) This is very normal behavior for a puppy this age - they want to put their mouth on everything and would rather bite than be held or petted. This is how they explore the world, and how they instinctively want to play. Humping is also a common attention-seeking behavior in young puppies, or can be a sign of over-excitement or frustration. The good news is, these issues will improve on their own as he gets older; it's a normal developmental stage for puppies, just like toddlers who grab everything with their hands and may not always want to be hugged or held. At this age, you may only be able to pet him or cuddle with him when he's sleepy - this is okay. If he bites your hands, just stop petting and ignore him until he calms down, or grab one of his toys and use that to engage him in play. Most dogs are no longer mouthing nearly as much by the time they are 8-12 months old, so hang in there - just be patient and consistent, and he will get calmer and easier to pet as he gets older.

Pilot sounds like your average, rambunctious and mischievous puppy dog. All of what you are describing are perfectly normal puppy behaviors. With proper training, enrichment, and patience on your part, Pilot should become a well-adjusted adult dog in time. Beginning obedience class at this early of an age might be a little frustrating, but I still think it is a great idea as long as the trainer is patient as well.
