My 4-month-old havapoo puppy is difficult to train, what's next?

I would encourage you to contact a dog trainer that can work with you and Bailey in person to really take care of this behavior. Sounds like Rosie needs some training! Puppies need to be taught appropriate behaviors, and I recommend getting her in with a professional behavioral expert to start working on training her. Your vet can recommend one for her.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! A lot of this is puppy behavior and jumping is the hardest bad habit to break. It sounds like you need more professional help if you have tried training her and this is where you are at. I recommend a private trainer than can work one on one with you and Bella. A group class setting will not get you where you need to be. I applaud you for trying to fix this now at such a young age. I can't tell you the countless numbers of animals I see where the owners think this behavior is okay. Pilot sounds like your average, rambunctious and mischievous puppy dog. All of what you are describing are perfectly normal puppy behaviors. With proper training, enrichment, and patience on your part, Pilot should become a well-adjusted adult dog in time. Beginning obedience class at this early of an age might be a little frustrating, but I still think it is a great idea as long as the trainer is patient as well. The dog trainer should be able to provide you with many training techniques and ideas on how to make your dog most suitable for your own situation. Good luck!!

Your best option is to have a professional trainer come to your home and evaluate her during these situations. They will be able to give you the best advice. Behavior issues are not quick fixes and if you don't know what you are doing you could make the dog worse instead of better. These types of behaviors should be handled by a professional. You need to catch this before she gets worse. The longer this goes on, the harder it will be to rectify (especially in a dog like a German Shepherd). I don't know where you are located so just do a google search for in-home professional dog trainers in your area or you can probably get a reference from your veterinarian.
