Is garlic-like breath normal for healthy 6-week-old puppies?

It could be just normal puppy breath. Some people feel like it doesn't smell good. If she tends to eat poop, this could also be the cause. With her being so young, I would not expect her to have any dental tartar causing a smell. If it continues or it gets worse, I would have your vet take a look at the mouth to ensure there isn't an infection somewhere.

There can definitely be an odor to parvo infected dogs but it is usually due to the bloody diarrhea they are experiencing and not their breath. I would be very cautious with your dog, however, if it is young and only a few weeks have passed since your had parvo positive puppies there, as it is likely still in the environment. If your dog shows any sign of illness at all (loose stools, low appetite, vomiting, lethargy), I would get to the vet right away.

I would bring him in for an exam. There are related organ changes that can produce bad breath. Organ changes Ike be best evaluated with blood work and a good physical exam. Your dog is young so it limits my differential list. It makes me think more of something congenital or a basic nutritional deficiency

Yes, the metallic smell can be from teething. I would not be overly worried about it. All her adult teeth should be in by about 6 months of age, if after that the smell persists then you should have your vet check her out. You can give her 1/4 cup of canned pumpkin per day (pure pumpkin, not pie filling) to help with her pooping.

I typically on bathe dogs that young if they got dirty or when people first adopt their dogs since they sometimes can have a smell to them. I would make sure that Gypsy is 100% dry prior to bringing her outside if you bathe her. I would also make sure you use a puppy shampoo so you don't dry out her skin. There really isn't anything you can give for puppy breath. What you can do (which may help) is start brushing Gypsy's teeth with a dog toothpaste and a toothbrush. It would be best to have a veterinarian do an exam on him. It’s possible he may have a wound on the roof of his mouth or back of his throat, or a piece of grass or a small twig stuck on a back tooth, etc, or a wound elsewhere in his mouth. It’s also possible that he’s having some tooth root problems with the recent eruption of adult teeth. If he is eating fine and otherwise acting normally, it’s ok to try brushing his teeth and try a rinse or water additive designed for halitosis (bad breath) in dogs. I really don't think it is anything to be worried about. I am not sure why he would have this smell. Usually a sweet smell of the breath is in relation to diabetes but her sure is young to have that, but it is not impossible. I suggest you just keep monitoring him and if the smell does not resolve or you start noticing her is drinking a lot of water and peeing a lot more he should see a vet.
