Why is my dog drooling white liquid, lethargic, and not pooping?

The wet nose isn't a problem, but it is a concern that Rockie isn't eating and vomiting whenever he is drink gin water. He also sounds lethargic. He could have a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or could have pancreatitis. His symptoms indicate he is quite sick, and he needs to see a vet now. I would recommend that Rocko be evaluated by a veterinarian. If he is so constipated that he is now vomiting, then he will likely need veterinary care to remove the firm feces from his colon safely. However, there could be other causes for the vomiting and constipation-like symptoms, such as dietary indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. Several of these can be very serious. If he has a GI blockage caused by eating something that go stuck, then he may need surgery to get well again.

The ocular discharge may or may not be related to his lethargy, decreased appetite, and usual stool volume and color. As long as the eye is not red, I would not worry too much. The lethargy, decreased appetite, and stool are suggestive of a primary gastrointestinal, pancreatic, or liver problem. You are doing a good job of trying to keep him hydrated. Continue the pedialyte and offer some chicken and rice. Discuss bloodwork including testing for pancreatitis, and abdominal x-rays with your veterinarian.

I am worried Rocky may have bad infection in his mouth or that he is trying to vomit. If you have access to a veterinarian, I strongly recommend you take him in for an examination. He likely needs to have blood work and xrays done. He may have eaten something that has upset his stomach, or caused a blockage inside his intestines. I don't think there is anything you can do for him at home--he needs to see a vet.

Poor Rocky! If this has been going on for more than 1-2 days and he's also not eating, then yes - I would definitely recommend taking him to the vet, as these can be signs of a serious problem. Your veterinarian can do a fecal exam for parasites, and may recommend blood work or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem so he can be started on appropriate treatment.

Poor guy. Unfortunately, lethargy and shaking can be caused by a number of conditions including: toxin ingestion, severe anemia, sepsis (infection in the bloodstream), an electrolyte imbalance, or a neurological condition just to name a few. If Rocky is acating abnormal in this way and doesn't seem to be snapping out of it for more than 30 mins or so, then its best to take him to your local ER vet for further evaluation. Please also check his gum color to ensure they are still nice and pink. Pale gums are cause for an immediate vet visit wtihout waiting for the pet to improve. It sounds like your dog is sick. The drooling can be due to nausea, and the lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, and diarrhea could be due to a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. I would take your dog into a vet right away for an exam, he sounds quite ill with all these symptoms, and he needs to be medically treated ASAP.
