Puppy ear infection: Head tilt after vet visit, is it serious?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 3 days old | 30 lbs

Hello, my puppy has an ear infection. Vet cleaned her ears and now she walks with her head tilted to one side. She's a 4 months old GSD puppy. Is this normal or should we go back in? Thanks in advance

I would be worried about a potential inner ear infection. Other ear infections can progress to inner ear infections which are painful, can result in hearing loss and balance issues. It is possible that the head tilt is the first sign that the balance Centers are being affected. I would advise taking Dahlia back in to the vet.
