My spayed puppy has diarrhea and mucus. When should I worry?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 6 months and 2 days old | 7.2 lbs

3 days has been having diarrhea. Mostly mucus. The thing is she is playful, drinks water, will eat boiled chicken. Last night she did have some of her kibble which might have been the cause for today's upset but it's always around 3am that it starts. thinking she's stressed out because of her cone from the spay last Mon. because she's been fine she just really can't sleep with it on & she wants it off desperately. I'm not sure about investing in a donut bcuz she slips out of her collar mid walk

I would take Snowball back to your vet, since it's been going on for three days and hasn't resolved with a bland diet. They will likely prescribe medication for the diarrhea so that it will clear up more quickly.
