Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | 1.5 lbs
Just brought my new 8 week old shihtzu home amd shes been sleeping all day. I want to know if I sould wake her up because i dont want her to sleep all day and stay up all night. Also she doesnt seem to like her crate, she wants to sleep next to me out of the crate. And she doesnt like the treats i bought so i dont know what to use to get her to like her crate. Or can I just let her sleep in the bed with me?

You could start by moving her crate into your bedroom at night, leaving the door open to the crate, then once she's comfortable in your room try moving her to the bed. She may prefer the crate - if this is the case it may not be a bad thing since pets can sometimes disrupt your sleep.

Dogs have different personalities and preferences, just like people do. I would continue to invite her up onto the bed, maybe playing with her before to tire her out, and pet her gently to give her the idea that it's time to sleep. If she chooses to get down I wouldn't worry about it too much, but as long as she knows she's welcome on the bed, she may surprise you at some point by choosing the bed over her crate. Pushing the issue make make her uncomfortable with getting up there so always make it inviting and a happy place to be.
