My 3-month-old puppies are attacking a female. Is it mating?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Hi. I have some 3 months old six puppies, three males three females. They are very healthy but the rising concern is that five of them turned up against one female and attacked her. I observed them and it is as if this female is ready to mate. Could it be the case?

No, they don't become sexually mature until between 6 and 8 months of age. Three months is too early. This is probably dominance behavior. If they are hurting her, then you will need to separate them. If they are not hurting her then just let them work it out.
