MY female dog is starting to behave like a male dog? I got my dog 5 months ago she is 3 years old this behaviour only started within the last few days she is marking her scent everytime she sniffs something and when I let her off leash she doesn’t want to come back she too busy marking her territory everywhere and she’s also humping my other female dog I’ve had her 5 months and she’s never done This before only been happening since the beginning of the week xx

Hello, sorry to hear about Cookie. If she is spayed, then I would be concerned that she may have a remnant ovarian tissue that needs to be completely removed. The remnant ovary may be continuing to produce sex hormones which is then causing her behavior. Alternatively, this could be a learned behavior that you will need to modify by deferring his behavior to doing something else.
I would discuss with your primary care veterinarian about checking hormones via a blood sample to confirm that she does not have remnant ovarian tissue. Cookie may also need an abdominal ultrasound to check for this. Hope this helps and best of luck.
