My puppy ate ibuprofen yesterday. Is he truly okay if he seems normal?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered

My 5 month Dotson ate a 200 mg IBP YESTERDAY. He appears normal but a little constipated. He pooped like five times 24 hours later.

Oh no, that's not good. One 200mg tablet can be sufficient to cause symptoms of ibuprofen toxicity in dogs. Typically you can see signs of toxicity within an hour, so if it was yesterday and Jax is acting normally, he may be ok. To help with the constipation, feed him canned food and add water to it.
