My puppy ate a ham and cheese sandwich with hot sauce. Is he okay?

There is little to worry about with him eating a whole hot dog. The most that could happen is he ends-up with an upset stomach and has a temporary bout of vomiting and/or diarrhea. If that does happen, then it's best to feed him a bland diet for a couple of days until things get back to normal. I hope that helps and all is well with Murphy.

He should be just fine - although it sounds like he didn’t enjoy he hot sauce there shouldn’t be any lasting side effects. If he ate a large amount of it you could potentially see some diarrhea but it should be self limiting.

The good news is, there is nothing about a BBQ pork sandwich that is inherently toxic to dogs so you don't need to worry about that :) I would say that your dog will probably be just fine - you may see some stomach upset, such as mild vomiting and/or diarrhea for the next 24 hours or so since his system is probably not used to food like this. Occasionally, a serious illness like pancreatitis could result from eating something this kind of table food, so I would recommend taking Hershey to the vet if he has vomiting/diarrhea lasting longer than 24 hours, or if he becomes very lethargic or doesn't want to eat.

You may see some gastrointestinal upset (vomiting and diarrhea) in the next few hours. If necessary, you can fast him for 6-12 hours then feed a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite, abdominal pain or GI upset that does not resolve. See your veterinarian for an exam and treatment if any of these symptoms develop.

Hello, you should monitor him for any signs of vomiting. If you note any then he should be seen by a veterinarian. Ideally, the cheese and wrapper will pass without complications but if the wrapper is big enough, it may become such and cause an obstruction. Make sure that you keep him away from other foreign material in the future since he may be an indiscriminate eater. Hope this helps and best of luck.
