Puppy swallowed toy fabric. Did it pass if she's acting normal?

Hi there. It could be a little too early for Snowball to pass the stuffing. We always worry any time a puppy ingests anything it shouldn't. Please watch her stools to see if anything is passing or if you note any blood in her feces, etc. If she shows any signs of vomiting or diarrhea, please take her in. Depending on the amount of stuffing she took in-she could potentially become obstructed which could make her very sick. It sounds like you're watching her very closely, good for you! You can continue to watch her for any evidence of an obstruction which may be observed with symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, inappetence and/or lethargy. If these are observed, have Rudi evaluated by a veterianrian for further assessment and treatment as these can be signs of an obstruction which may need therapy. The good news is that is passed out. IF there are no other pieces then you are fine and there is nothing to worry about. If there were other parts of the toy ingested, then all you can do at this point is to monitor for vomiting, decreased appetite or bloody diarrhea. If these occur then get him checked for an obstruction

Don't worry, this is unlikely to cause any issues. Most small pieces of plastic and cloth and other material pass just fine in the stool, if the puppy doesn't vomit it up first. If Snowball is vomiting over and over again tonight or tomorrow, or doesn't seem herself, then she should see a vet. Otherwise, she'll likely be just fine! Hope that helps!

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. I would recommend just watching her for now to see if it passes. I would monitor her stool to see if there is any evidence of the fabric in her stool. If she is showing any symptoms such as vomiting, lethargy or decreased appetite then I would get her seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible to have abdominal x-rays taken and an exam.

Oh Rocky! I would recommend monitoring his eating and defecating closely. It is possible he will pass the material in his feces. IF at any time you feel Rocky is not eating, vomiting or not defecating I would recommend taking Rocky to the vet for x-rays to see if the cloth is causing a blockage of his intestines. IF he is acting normal I would feed him and allow him to have normal activity

Of course the concern would be a gastrointestinal obstruction from her eating pieces of her toy. At this point, if she has only vomited once, you may continue to monitor her closely to see if it is only going to be an isolated episode. Watch closely for signs associated with an obstruction such as nausea, vomiting, anorexia and abdominal pain.
