Is pinkish discharge a sign my pregnant dog is going into labor?

  It could mean that! Start taking Lola's rectal temperature every morning. When the temperature drops below 99 degrees fahrenheit, she should go into labor within 24 hours. Watch Lola for any signs of illness and take her into the vet if those are seen. Just like with humans, the spotting may be normal but it can also indicate a problem.   This could indicate labor but also a uterine infection. As her pregnancy status is not known I recommend Sallie get examined by her veterinarian. If this is an infection it can become very serious without prompt treatment.

  I am assuming you are talking about vaginal discharge.
  This can be caused by a number of things. Both the urethra and vaginal openings exit the vaginal/vulvar area so discharge could indicate a problem with the urinary tract or with the reproductive tract.
  With any strange discharge, it is a good idea to schedule a veterinary appointment to check it out. If the discharge becomes cloudy, green or yellow in color, it is best to seek veterinary care as soon as possible as that may indicate something more serious such as a uterine infection.
