Why is my parvo puppy limping and not standing after vet visit?

Poor Ghost! You didn't mention which limbs are affected, so it's a good idea to bring him to your vet if he's having trouble walking at all, or is showing an increase in other symptoms such as the urination issues or other signs like vomiting, diarrhea, inability to pass stool or urine, etc. Until you can get to the vet, keeping him on kennel/bed rest with leashed walks only (or helping him get about with a towel sling under his belly if it's both front or both back limbs) can help reduce further pain or irritation until your vet can figure out what's going on.

This is a sign of extreme weakness, your puppy is obviously still very far from recovering from Parvo, you need to make sure he stays hydrated, if he isn't vomiting you need to encourage him to drink as much as possible, and of course continue with the treatment your vet gave you.

That is not normal for pups recovering from parvovirus. I recommend an evaluation with a rehab veterinarian if there is one in your area. They can give you exercises to strengthen the rear legs and determine if it’s from a back or leg problem or just weakness from the diesease. The sooner you get him up and standing and walking the better since the muscles and ligaments need weight bearing and movements to get stronger. Poor Harley does sound quite sick at the moment! It is concerning that he started to limp after taking a wee, and he could have injured, torn, or strained a ligament. If he's still limping now, two days after the initial time you saw him limp, I would take him back into the vet today. The vet can diagnose what is causing the limp and how best to treat it. In addition, the vet can follow up on how he is doing after having such bad diarrhea. Good luck, I hope he feels better soon!

I would take Gulli back into a vet immediately. It's quite serious that she has completely stopped walking, and she could have a serious problem with her back, neck, and/or hips preventing her from walking. She needs x-rays to diagnose what is causing the problem as well as further treatment. Please bring her into the vet. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Oh poor finn!! This is such a common occurrence with young, excitable puppies. If he is just limping slightly and able to bear some weight I would just allow him to rest and give him 24 hours to see if the limping resolves. If he can't use the leg or if limping is persisting beyond 24 hours I would have a vet evaluate him. I hope we wakes up from his rest feeling better!

If your dog does not start showing improvement after 48 hours of being on the medication and/or if his symptoms persist, then you should take him back to your veterinarian for a recheck. He may need additional diagnostics like blood work, X-rays, and/or a parvo test (depending on his vaccination status). He may also need supportive care like nausea medication and fluid therapy.
