Well, it is certainly suspicious that the blood may be coming from the penis. Is there any sign of trauma? If not it may be more internal. Bladder infection, prostate infection, and commonly bladder stones are all possible causes. Bladder stones in males are especially concerning because they can lodge in the penis and cause a urinary obstruction. Less likely would be a bleeding disorder, but that can happen as well. Hi, it is not normal to bleed so profusely , I would definitely have him reassessed ! Could it be that the penis has been swollen for some time ? If so, it is better to have him checked over sooner rather than later as permanent damage to the penis can occur that can eventually end up in a an operation. Remember that Euro’s breed tolerates pain much better than other breeds but even a small injury causes a lot of pain in this area which is extremely well vascularised. This is usually very easy to treat so I'm not sure why you say the vet can't help you with a solution. Honestly, the only permanent solution is to have him neutered. This issue doesn't happen in neutered dogs. This could be a recurring issue because him scrotum is staying too wet. Do you keep him in a kennel? Is he laying in his urine a lot? You can try this over the counter antiseptic spray to see if that helps. You need to spray the scrotum 3-4 times per day in the beginning and once it starts to look better you can decrease to twice a day and then once a day. You may have to continue using it every couple days as a prevention or until you can figure out why he keeps getting this. Hello, sorry to hear about Oscar. He could have an infection of his prepuce or penis. Additionally, he could have a UTI or urinary stones. Ideally, he should be examined by his veterinarian so that they can evaluate his penis, prepuce and look for evidence of stones or a UTI.
