Well, it is certainly suspicious that the blood may be coming from the penis. Is there any sign of trauma? If not it may be more internal. Bladder infection, prostate infection, and commonly bladder stones are all possible causes. Bladder stones in males are especially concerning because they can lodge in the penis and cause a urinary obstruction. Less likely would be a bleeding disorder, but that can happen as well. I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian soon. They will likely recommend an x-ray to look for stones and a urinalysis. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
