What is Nobivac dog vaccine? When should my dog get it and deworm him?

Thankyou DR.MELANIE, BVSC MS As you just mentioned name of the vaccine please can i know Nobivac is for what? & can you please explain about this vaccine?? Uses and when i should give him Max is 2 years old can i give him this vaccine now.Shall i devorm him before vaccine?? Or no need.I gave devorming tablet in june last week 2019.This devorming tablet is suggested by some docter in Petco Pet Education Center i using this from june month 2019.Iam sending images below.Please check once is this devorming is okey

You are welcome! That deworming medication is just fine. Max needs the Nobivac DHPPi combination shot. You should give him one now, and another shot four weeks after the first so he's fully vaccinated. Then he will need another booster of it in a year. Yes, you can deworm him now too. I hope this helps!

What should I do if my dog has a wound? When should I see a vet?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This looks like a fairly superficial wound at least based on this picture. However, it would still be a good idea to have him evaluated by a veterinarian to look at it more closely in case it is deeper than what it looks like. Also, these can be painful and can get infected so your veterinarian could potentially start antibiotics and pain control medications. If superficial, these wounds tend to respond well to therapy and heal relatively quickly. Good luck and have a good night!

My dog has a bite wound with pus on its neck. Is rabies a concern?

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It sounds like the bite wound has become infected. Bite wounds typically require the attention of a veterinarian. If the wound is deep enough, it may require stitches and prescription antibiotics if it is infected. Depending on your local animal control and rabies laws, your puppy may need a rabies vaccine now and then a booster in 6 months. I would be sure to have Puppy seen by a veterinarian right away so he can have this wound evaluated.

My dog has dark sores on neck/stomach after vet visit, should I worry?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I understand your worry! I am glad they areas are healing! I don't think you to need to worry if the aloe is helping. I don't think the vaccines were the cause. It sounds more like a skin infection or hot spots that once the hair was shaved down were able to dry out. Keep monitoring the spot and if they come back or don't resolve let your Vet know!

My dog has a swollen lump below a healed wound. Is it infected?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Bo! I swelling below the wound can be from inflamed and thickened tissues, from the bandage being too tight, from fluid build up under the skin (seroma) or infection (abscess). Ideally Bo should be seen by your Vet. If you can't do that then warm compress the area twice daily and if it doesn't resolve in a few days have him seen. I wish Bo the best!
