My dog has dark sores on neck/stomach after vet visit, should I worry?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 3 years and 6 months old | 9 lbs

Took my dog to the vet for yearly exams and shots. 3 weeks later, he has dark sores on neck and stomach. He is a 4yr old Pomeranian and never had them before. I put an aloe based spray and got his hair cut short bc it is hot here in Arkansas. They seem to be healing, should I be worried?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I understand your worry!

I am glad they areas are healing! I don't think you to need to worry if the aloe is helping.

I don't think the vaccines were the cause. It sounds more like a skin infection or hot spots that once the hair was shaved down were able to dry out.

Keep monitoring the spot and if they come back or don't resolve let your Vet know!
