My dog has a red blister on his privates. Can it wait for boosters?

Hello, thank you for using PetCoach. This looks to be a mild skin infection. Why it happened, we almost never know for sure. It could be from an insect bite but again, no way to know for sure. It does not look serious. I suggest you buy these medicated pads (linked below) and use them twice a day on the affected area. If after about 7-10 days it does not look better then you should have Maxwell examined by your veterinarian. You should clean the skin with antiseptic solution twice daily for 3-4 days (for example 4% chlorhexidine). If the bump / blister ( it almost look like inflamed nipple on the picture you posted) does not get better or if it starts to bother Apollo, you should take him to your local vets for an appointment

If he was neutered recently or in the last few weeks and the blister is by the old incision it could be a suture reaction. There are many reasons for red skin bumps. You can gently warm compress the bump twice daily. If you can post a picture it may help. Otherwise get it checked by your Vet if it doesn't get better

This looks like a localized area of infection (a pustule). I think it is a good idea to keep the jumpsuit on him so he doesn’t irritate the skin any more over night. If your puppy is not itchy and the blisters are not bothering him at all, you should keep an eye on him for the next 8-12hrs. Allergic reactions like that often disappear within 6-12hrs. However, if Johny becomes unwell, itchy and lethargic, please take him to your local vets.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Given his age, the most likely problem is something such as an infection from a penetrating foreign body. There could be something still stuck below his skin if this is the case. Other possibilities include a bot fly larva or even a tumor of some kind. I would recommend having him seen by a veterinarian as soon as you can to have it checked and addressed. Hope this helps!

If there are no other signs of infection or discomfort such as scratching or biting at it, you may just drain it with your fingers and then clean the area with soapy water. If if fills up again, or she develops others, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for more thorough treatment most likely including systemic antibiotics. She is precious by the way!
