My neutered puppy has red spots on his testicles. Should I worry?

This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria or fungal). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics or antifungal meds (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! It's hard to clearly make out the picture of his testicles. But it isn't abnormal for dogs to have freckles or pigmentation on their testicles. The scrotum is just like regular skin, if the animal is white with spots the scrotum can have spots. As for the spots on his belly, they could be evidence of a mild skin infection. A pustule that popped and left a crusty ring. If he only has those 2-3 spots and isn't excessively licking or scratching, you can try a medicated shampoo. Bathe him 2-3 times per week and leave the lather on the affected areas for 10 mins before rinsing. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. With the symptoms you are describing, this could be what we call a mild case of puppy pyoderma. I would recommend bathing with a shampoo such as Douxo PS chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved. I would also recommend starting malacetic conditioning spray 2 to 3 times per day until resolved. It sounds like he could have a bacterial skin infection and may need an antibiotic. Have your vet take a look at him to determine the cause and prescribe medications to treat. He may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, and/or corticosteroid to help. You could aslo bathe him with a medicated dog shampoo, like Epi-soothe, to see if that helps.

The spot in your picture does look ulcerated. I would put the cone back on for a couple days to make sure Toffee isn’t licking it. You can apply Neosporin twice a day. If it looks like the spot is growing or getting worse in 2-3 days, he should go back to the vet to have it looked at closer.
