Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 85 lbs
My golden retriever is 4 1/2 years old. Not neutered. His testicles have a layer of blackened, dead skin that flakes off. When I attempt to pull of the large hanging pieces he gets very uncomfortable. His licks himself often. Has been like this for a while, but it seems to have gotten much worse lately. His skin underneath appears to be red and raw.

Oh goodness! I am not sure, you probably know better, if the black pigmented areas are normal on his scrotum. If not that looks like tissue necrosis from vasculitits, frost bite, burn, insect bite or self trauma (orchiditis). I would take Toby in to the Vet before the weekend. If he is licking then he needs to wear an E-collar to prevent continued self trauma.
