Why does my mother dog eat puppy poop and then throw up brown vomit?

It is not unusual for dogs to eat feces and this can make them throw up. Try to stop her from eating feces by going outside with her and immediately removing any waste. You can also feed her a product such as Forbid which can make some pets stop the behavior. Vomiting has many causes. There a number of reasons that dogs will eat their own (or another dog's) stool. You didn't mention how old Paige is, but I suspect she is an adult. Any significant behavioral change like that (especially when accompanied by a physical change like vomiting), should be evaluated by a veterinarian. So, I would recommend having your veterinarian examine Paige. This is usually a behavior that dogs tend to improve from relatively quickly. I would just try to avoid him eating his feces and discourage this behavior as much as possible. This is a common problem in dogs, and it is gross but not abnormal. There are a few things you can do to stop this behavior, like feeding a supplement that sometimes makes the stool taste bitter (see a link below).
