Can Mal-a-ket Plus and Synotic drops be used together for dog ears?

Yes, both of these products should help with the infection. the Malacetic solution will treat the fungal / bacterial infection and the Cortavance will help relieve inflammation. Treat as directed by the prescribing veterinarian and if no improvement after 7 days, recheck with the veterinarian as a different medication for the ear may need to be used. It is best to use the flush solution first to remove debris and previous medication from the ear canal first (triz ultra) before applying the motazol. Squeeze a small amount of flush in to the ear gently, massage the base, and then allow your pet to shake his head. Gently wipe out any debris/solution with cotton balls that was dislodged. Trisha should start feeling better within about 48 hours if the treatment is working. It sounds like the vet decided to hold of on a topical treatment and have you start with just cleaning. So if you clean her ears with the MalAcetic tomorrow and Thursday is she still flapping/itching then I would recommending calling her veterinarian to see if they would like to prescribe her a topical treatment. I hope Trisha is feeling back to normal soon!

You can even clean the ear every day, but ALWAYS apply the drops half an hour to one hour after you apply the cleaning solution, otherwise you will dilute the medication reducing its effectiveness. Remember to dry up the ear after applying the cleaning solution.

MalAcetic is labeled for use more than once a month, but if this is how your vet intended it to be used I would recommend checking in with them before changing the frequency of dosing. I would recommend you clean it twice weekly for now. However, if they continue to look dirty after using it consistently, it would be better to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as she may have an ear infection. Hopefully it resolves. Gentamycin is a common ingredient in ear medications. There is a small risk of damaging the hearing, especially if the ear drum is not intact. When I diagnose an ear infection in a pet, I recommend a two-part treatment. The first is with a cleaner to remove any debris; I like DECHRA DermaPet Malacetic Otic. This is important as ear medications need to contact the skin of the ear and if there is ear wax or other debris in the way, then the medications can't work. After the ears are dry, you can apply the medication. Ears typically need to be treated twice a day for 7-10 days. Cats can commonly get ear mites that may look like an ear infection. If you have not treated Melcho for ear mites, I recommend doing so now. If the ear infection does not resolve after using an ear cleaner and the Dexoryl within a week, then Melcho should see the vet as he could have a resistant bacteria growing, yeast infection, parasites, or even a polyp causing problems deep in his ear. I cannot find a list of ingredients for the Trixie ear drops, so I cannot tell you if they would be helpful.
