How can I identify my rescued dog's breed? Is he a Morkie or a mix?

What a cutie pie! A shorkie is certainly a possibility, as would be a cross with a maltese (morkie), a chihuahua (chorkie) or really any smaller breed dog. Or she could potentially be a chichuahua cross as they can have this color pattern as well. If you truly want to know her breed makeup you can do a genetic test. Regardless of his breed, Bruno is adorable! :-) From the photos, he does not appear to be a purebred Pomeranian to me. My best guess would be a Pomeranian-Corgi-Jack Russell terrier mix. If you want to determine his breed with more precision, you can look into a DNA test, such as a Wisdom Panel.

Whatever he is, he is adorable. My best guess would be spaniel and possibly pomeranian. If you're really curious, there are DNA tests available to determine genetically what breeds your dog is, but honestly to me it wouldn't matter. Drogo is super cute! So sorry but there is no way to tell what breed he is just by looking at the photos. If you asked 50 vets you would likely get at least 45 different answers/guesses. What a cutie!!!! This is strictly as guess as visual identification has been proven to be 75% inaccurate but if I had to guess, he looks like there is hound and possibly Cattle Dog. Its highly unlikely however that he is a 50/50 mix. I bet there are several breeds present within his ancestry! There are many canine genetic companies out there and some are better than others. You will need to check however that they have a canine genetic database from the country where he is coming from as genetic signatures do vary based upon location or origin. You can find out exactly what Eli is through genetic testing. It is a little expensive but is interesting and that way you can know for sure.
