What breed is my dog? How can I identify my mixed breed dog?

I would think he could have white German Shepherd or Spitz if his tail curls. Sadly we may never know and everyone likely has a different opinion! I hope this helps!

It's really impossible to tell from a picture alone. It looks like this must be a picture of Sharon as a puppy (since you list his weight as 58lbs, but the pictured dog is much closer to 10lbs). I would guess some combination of terrier, collie, and "other". I would recommend using a DNA test to get a better idea. Embark and Wisdom Panel are two options. Hello, and thank you for using PetCoach. In my opinion, Sharon looks like an Alaskan Malamute - she is a bit larger and has longer fur than the typical Siberian Husky. If you want more concrete scientific information, the best (and only) way to determine breed is with genetic testing, such as the Wisdom Panel. She looks big! From her head shape, I would think there is some Great Dane in her. I can't tell you for sure if she may be full Great Dane or a mix, but her paws, head shape, short coat, and coloring and very similar to a Great Dane.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! He is adorable! He is a mixed breed dog but a predominant breed is hard to guess as he looks very well mixed. I would say that he has some characteristics of a Newfoundland and a Bernese mountain dog. I would say that he is likely to be a medium-sized breed dog to perhaps a bit larger. Good luck!

Beautiful Sharon! The head shape, nose and ears are definitively German Shepard but the tip of the nose should be black in all colors. First you should know that breed identification by looks alone has been proven to be inaccurate 75% of the time. If I had to guess, I suspect a pit bull type breed and German Shepherd. However Boxer and maybe hound could also be present. If you want to know for sure, look at one of the breed tests such as Wisdom Panel. Beautiful dog!
