How to identify a combined rabies vaccine on my pet's label?

I am assuming that SP may stand for Schering Plough. I can not think of another manufacturer that would have this abbreviation. However Schering Plough merged with Merck several years ago. They do make a canine rabies vaccination called Novibac. I hope this helps! Thank you for using Pet Coach.

The easiest way is to call the vet clinic that gave them. They often have codes specific to their practice. The Intra-trac could be either a Bordatella vaccine, or a combination Bordatella, parainfluenza, adenovirus 2 vaccine. The DHPP stands for Distemper, Hepatitis (adenovirus 2), Parvovirus and Parainfluenza. I hope that helps and all is well with Ella Grace.

Hello. Hexadog is a multivalent vaccine that protects a dog against 6 diseases including rabies. Rabisin only protects against rabies. So if your only requirement is to make sure your pet is vaccinated against rabies, either vaccine will be fine & will qualify to protect against rabies. Any rabies vaccination should also come with a Rabies certificate. This is usually just printed on regular paper, so you may want to double check that it isn’t attached to your receipt. However, if you did not receive one then I would call the location and ask to speak with the manager associated with the vaccine clinic. Hopefully a reprint /copy can be made. The answer to which vaccinations your dog needs depends on her age and her individual risk factors. Those vaccines are considered Core vaccinations. Any other vaccinations are considered Non-Core and are only recommended for dogs that are at risk of contracting those diseases. If you can’t get ahold of the original owner, then no there’s nothing a vet can do to verify Charlie has had his rabies vaccine. To be honest, if they are claiming they lost the records, I would assume he hadn’t gotten any vaccines at all. The vet who gives the vaccines keeps records, so the original owners could have contacted the vet to get their copy. I would advise getting Charlie his DHPPi as well as rabies. I hope this helps.
