What's the ideal weight for my 6-month-old standard male poodle?

The breed standard for a bitch is between 46 and 71 pounds approximately, she sounds quite small. I would check her papers and make sure she is KC registered as a standard poodle. It is very hard to know what size the puppies will reach, so I would only consider buying one if you could accept it possibly being on the small side.

You can usually double their weight and that is the average of full grown. At 4 months old, it is hard to say since a cocker spaniel is typically larger than a poodle, and the size will depend on if it is miniature poodle, toy poodle or standard poodle in the blood lines. A healthy puppy should have ribs you can feel but never see and a waist line viewed from above. With all the hair it will be easily viewed when wet.

Coco will likely weigh around 55 to 60lbs, her height should be around 23 to 24 inches tall. Of course dogs are not machines, and this is just an average guess at height and weight. There are always exceptions to the norm, ie smaller or taller than the average prediction, weight will depend ,, of course, on muscle mass and fat.

Poodle weights- 4-6 pounds (toy) 10-15 pounds (miniature) This question is really hard to answer without watching and tracking Gypsy's growth and without seeing her parents and knowing what their weights were. Toy and mini poodles mature at one year of age so the next 5 1/2 months will answer your question. Her body frame may enlarge or she may just gain a little more weight. It's hard to say. Good luck

There is no ideal weight as doodles vary so much in size. A perfect weight dog should have a waist when looking down on him and a tucked tummy from the side view. You should be able to easily feel his ribs but not see them when looking from the side. He should have good muscle covering over his spine. The amount of food to maintain ideal body weight varies on size and activity but monitoring how he looks and feels will tell you if his weight is ideal. At 4 months and weighing only 6 lbs, I would guess (without seeing a picture of your dog0 that he won't be over 15 pounds. I wish you the best!

Rather than depend on weight, we will determine if a dog is at a healthy body condition score (BCS) by using a chart that gives a dog a BCS anywhere from 1 to 9, with 4-5 being ideal. Leo should be eating a kibble dog food that is formulated for puppies or "growth". As much exercise as he wants to get is perfect! Puppies are very high energy, so this is nothing to worry about.
